ENVY Won Their Way Into VCT. Then They Started Tearing the Roster Apart.
ENVY's rookie partner season has been one roster swap after another, and Glyph reportedly walking in for P0PPIN ahead of Stage 2 makes it the third core change since February.
ENVY won Ascension 2025 to earn their VCT Americas partner spot. Less than a year into actually using it, the roster that won them that slot is basically gone.
Count the Moves
February 5: inspire gets benched, Demon1 signed in before Kickoff even starts. April 16: canezerra leaves. May 10: inspire's inactive stint formally ends, he's out for good. Now, with Stage 2 closing in, Glyph is reportedly walking in to replace P0PPIN. That's four changes to a five-man roster in five months, on a team that had just been promoted.
Then Stage 1 Happened
Ninth to tenth place. No Masters London. For an org that grinded through Ascension to win this slot, that's the exact result you build continuity to avoid, not invite more turnover toward.
Why Glyph Specifically
He got benched at Gentle Mates in favor of Procs, reportedly drew interest from a handful of EMEA teams, and is choosing to come back to NA instead. He'd line up next to Rossy, Demon1, keznit, and nightz1x. On raw talent that's a real five. None of them have finished a season together, though, and that matters more right now than any individual stat line.
Where I Land
You can't blame ENVY for reacting to a 9th-10th finish. Struggling teams adjust. But this is the third core change this season, not a tweak. At some point roster stability becomes the upgrade nobody's trying. Stage 2 starts July 16. If this lineup doesn't click immediately, there's no fourth swap left to make before the season's done.
