Killjoy's Turret Fires 50% Faster Now. That's Not a Minor Buff.

Patch 13.0 dropped today and Sentinels got their biggest upgrades in a long time. Killjoy mains are finally eating.

Patch 13.0 went live today with Summit and a sentinel overhaul that most people are sleeping on. Summit got its own article already. The buffs are the more interesting conversation for ranked.

What Actually Changed

Killjoy got the most significant changes. Her turret fires 50% faster, her Alarmbot moves 50% faster, and her Nanoswarm now lasts five seconds instead of four. That last one is the real change. One extra second on a damage field changes how post-plant setups play out. A retake through a five-second Nanoswarm is genuinely harder to time. Combine that with Astra or Brim and the window to defuse gets really tight.

Sage's self-heal doubling from 50 to 100 HP is also bigger than it sounds. Before, popping it mid-round got you to a partial state where you were still vulnerable. Now you heal back to full. That changes the math on when she uses it and whether she burns it early or saves it for a critical duel.

Cypher's Trapwire arming time went from 0.9 seconds down to 0.7. Not flashy but it matters for setup speed. Veto got Crosscut range expanded from 24 to 30 meters and the Interceptor cooldown cut from 30 to 20 seconds. More presence on larger maps.

The Meta Read

Riot said they wanted to make Sentinels better at punishing five-man rushes and anchoring sites solo. These changes do that. Killjoy in particular is in a better spot than she has been in a while.

That said, Cypher and Vice were already strong before today. This closes the gap more than it inverts the meta. KJ mains have something real to work with now. Whether she overtakes the top two depends on how teams actually use the new numbers.

Coming in hot on day one of the new act.
