PRX vs EDG Had 773K Watching. They Delivered.

Paper Rex beat EDward Gaming 2-1 in the most-watched match of Masters London to punch their grand final ticket.

Josh

Two days ago I said I was more excited about VIT vs LEV than this match. I was wrong.

PRX vs EDG pulled 773,000 peak concurrent viewers. Highest of the entire tournament. The match went to three maps and neither team gave the other a comfortable round count to work with. Paper Rex are in the grand final.

How It Went

PRX took map one, EDG answered on map two, and then the decider happened. That third map was the kind of game where teams keep finding rounds when they shouldn't and neither side can put it away cleanly. The highlights video above is 45 minutes long. That tells you something about what kind of match it was.

EDG pushed PRX harder than anyone has at this event and still lost. That is a genuinely impressive statement about both teams. EDG showed they can compete with the best team in the bracket. PRX showed they can win even when the series gets uncomfortable and nothing comes easy.

The Bracket From Here

PRX waits. EDG drops to the lower bracket, where they'll face whoever comes through the VIT vs LEV lower semis. That lower final happens before Sunday's grand final gives PRX their opponent.

If LEV makes it out, PRX already beat them 2-0 earlier in these playoffs. That won't make either team comfortable, but PRX has the blueprint. If it's VIT or EDG in the grand final, that's a different problem entirely.

PRX has beaten every upper bracket team they've faced at Masters London and still looks like they have gears left. June 21. I'm not fading them.
