Waylay's Gone Again, and My Lotus Attack Just Broke

Riot disabled Waylay across every queue after a Refract bug fed her bad visual info, right as I found her groove on Lotus.

Waylay is gone. Riot pulled her from Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, and even Deathmatch on July 31 after finding a bug where Refract feeds her incorrect visual information on the way back. Their words: implications for competitive integrity. Translation: she might be seeing through smokes or walls she shouldn't, and nobody wants that deciding a round.

What Refract Was Actually Doing

Refract teleports Waylay to a marked point and back, and the bug lives in that return window. Somewhere in the animation she's getting visual data that doesn't match what she should see, which is about the worst kind of bug an FPS can ship. Doesn't matter how rare it is. One clip of a Waylay seeing through a wall she shouldn't and the whole broadcast looks rigged.

My Timing Could Not Be Worse

I picked her up two weeks ago specifically for Lotus, chasing that 54.9 percent win rate the stat sites keep quoting. First few games felt clean: dash in on Sunset entrance, blink out if the read is wrong, actually survive to trade. Last night I loaded in, hit agent select, and she's just not there. Grayed out, no explanation in client. Had to scroll a Reddit thread mid-queue to figure out why.

Seen This Movie Before

This is the same playbook Riot ran on Neon when the Fast Lane exploit broke: disable first, patch later, no ETA given up front. Neon came back with balance changes attached, not just a bug fix. I'd bet Waylay does too, given she was already sitting in C-tier at a 4.2 percent pick rate. Nobody's rushing to save a duelist nobody was playing anyway.

Until then, back to actual duelists. Lotus without Waylay just means more Jett.
